Caramel mesh tank IQOS in Maputo: the wholesale shortlist
Caramel in Maputo: 20 units tested over 4 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the caramel habit
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.35 per 10 ml.
Caramel sounds like one product. It is not: a mesh tank running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
The short version: caramel in Maputo works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a caramel mesh tank really costs in Maputo
If you are looking at caramel in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the mesh tank you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested caramel in a mesh tank
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a mesh tank arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every caramel bottle shipped into Mozambique.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ignoring the batch date on a mesh tank and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a mesh tank that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
