Caramel box mod IQOS in Maputo: the best shortlist
Caramel in Maputo: 16 units tested over 6 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Delivery, returns and what 7–14 business days really means
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.31 per 10 ml.
A caramel box mod from the best options in Mozambique costs about MT2.31 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long caramel tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a caramel box mod really costs in Maputo
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested caramel in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every caramel bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT66 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.31 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
