Candy pen device IQOS in Maputo: the cheap shortlist
Candy in Maputo: 20 units tested over 4 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Ordering IQOS to Maputo: the practical version
Candy prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.8 per 10 ml.
We run candy the same way in Maputo: same pen device, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: candy in Maputo works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a candy pen device really costs in Maputo
If you are looking at candy in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pen device you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested candy in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where candy goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why candy tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing candy with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for candy in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

| Stock checked | 20 lines | Batch-traced, dated production runs only |
| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~4 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Mozambique | 7–14 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | MT59 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.8 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |
