Candy pen device IQOS in Maputo: the budget shortlist
Candy in Maputo: 10 units tested over 5 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the candy habit
Candy in Maputo reaches the shelf in pen device formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
A candy pen device from the budget options in Mozambique costs about MT2.96 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: candy in Maputo works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a candy pen device really costs in Maputo
The honest read on candy: 10 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested candy in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 10 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where candy goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long candy in Maputo survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why candy tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for candy in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Why does candy taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the candy blend itself harsh.
Is candy legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On candy the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.96 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
