Blackcurrant starter kit IQOS in Maputo: the review shortlist — Iqosmozambique
Blackcurrant in Maputo: 9 units tested over 3 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the blackcurrant habit
Blackcurrant prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.24 per 10 ml.
If you are looking at blackcurrant in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the starter kit you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Below is the run we did for this search: 9 units, starter kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a blackcurrant starter kit really costs in Maputo
The honest read on blackcurrant: 9 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested blackcurrant in a starter kit
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Batch code and production date, so a blackcurrant bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where blackcurrant goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT61 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.24 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why blackcurrant tastes flat after two days.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long blackcurrant in Maputo survives.

Frequently asked questions
Why does blackcurrant taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the blackcurrant blend itself harsh.
Is blackcurrant legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
What nicotine strength should blackcurrant start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a starter kit.
