Blackcurrant starter kit IQOS in Maputo: the price shortlist
Blackcurrant in Maputo: 18 units tested over 6 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with blackcurrant in Mozambique
We run blackcurrant the same way in Maputo: same starter kit, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Blackcurrant in a starter kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: blackcurrant in Maputo works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a blackcurrant starter kit really costs in Maputo
Blackcurrant in a starter kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested blackcurrant in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Batch code and production date, so a blackcurrant bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
Where blackcurrant goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT34 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.07 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Buying the cheapest starter kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

| Stock checked | 18 lines | Batch-traced, dated production runs only |
| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~4 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Mozambique | 7–14 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | MT34 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.07 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |
