Blackcurrant pen device IQOS in Maputo: the deals shortlist
Blackcurrant in Maputo: 17 units tested over 7 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the blackcurrant habit
The honest read on blackcurrant: 17 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Blackcurrant prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.58 per 10 ml.
The short version: blackcurrant in Maputo works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a blackcurrant pen device really costs in Maputo
Blackcurrant in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested blackcurrant in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 17 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a blackcurrant bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where blackcurrant goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised MT64 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT3.58 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On blackcurrant the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT3.58 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
Can I order IQOS online in Mozambique?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 7–14 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Why does blackcurrant taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the blackcurrant blend itself harsh.
